Convertible Hand Trucks
Convertible hand trucks can be used as an upright hand truck or as a platform truck to allow the trucks to carry a wider range of items than would be possible with other types of hand trucks. Also known as multiposition hand trucks, they let one person move large or heavy items such as boxes, crates, and raw materials. In their hand truck configuration, they have a nose plate that supports a load and a vertical frame that prevents the load from falling off the trucks as they are moving. The nose plate slides under the load or the load is stacked onto the nose plate, and the trucks are tilted back and balanced on their wheels so they can be rolled from one place to another. In their platform truck configuration, they have a platform that is supported by four wheels and provides a large surface area for stacking loads. The hand trucks' load capacity may change depending on the configuration it is being used in.
