Safety-Rated Headlamps

Safety-rated headlamps illuminate areas where flammable, combustible, or ignitable materials are present. They keep arcs and sparks contained to reduce the risk of becoming a source of ignition for a fire or explosion. These hazardous location headlamps carry class and division ratings as defined by National Electrical Code (NEC) standards for use in areas with specific hazards. Class I and II headlamps also carry group ratings designating use in locations with specific types of gas, vapour, or dust. Safety-rated headlamps are worn on a worker's head or attach to a hard hat and aim a light beam forward while freeing both hands for work. They make workers visible to others and move with them to navigate dark or dimly lit areas and shine light into unlit cabinets and enclosures. These lights are commonly used for task lighting to perform maintenance or make repairs in refineries, mills, chemical plants, and confined spaces.
