TIG (tungsten inert gas) nozzles focus shielding gas on the weld pool. The shielding gas keeps airborne contaminants out of the weld pool to help avoid pores, cracks, or excessive spatter in the weld. Also called TIG cups, the nozzles must be replaced when damaged to maintain proper gas flow. Each nozzle attaches in front of the collet on a compatible TIG torch and surrounds the tungsten electrode. A complete TIG torch setup includes a nozzle, collet body or gas lens, collet, insulators, back cap, torch body, torch handle, and tungsten electrode.
